ARTS INFUSION is a unique child-driven arts experience that develops the use of critical thinking skills and promotes advanced learning.

• ARTS INFUSION is inspired by the “H.O.T.S.” philosophy (higher order thinking skills) – a child-driven process that stimulates the creative ability to analyze and translate one form of information into an art form.

  • a science project…a sculpture
  • a math equation…a sound feast of percussion instruments
• H.O.T.S.= Academics + Democracy +Arts
• Teachers will introduce and nurture the technical development of their particular art form
• Students will use these skills to interpret and recreate an elected school project into their “language”, or selected form of art study.
• Each session will start with “Election Day” during which each student will vote on the pieces that will be assigned to each art class for study
• Each session will conclude with “Town Meeting”, a grand showcase of all art classes
• All classes will be offered on Saturday mornings at Rippowam Middle School
• Spring 2007 courses are offered to students in grades 3-5. Our program will eventually expand into the middle school
