Over 4,000 players, parents and supporters filled Boyle Stadium with excitement on Sept. 17 to kickoff a new year of SYF Programs. SYF would especially like to thank all players, parents and coaches who participated to help make it a successful, fun and safe event.
Special thanks to our guest speakers who included State Rep. Gerry Fox, Mary Willis, Susan Nable, Board of Ed President, Joshua Starr, Superintendent of Stamford Schools, Cedric Jones - NFL Youth Football and our own Marc Lyons.

Over 2,500 players, parents and fans filled Boyle Stadium on September 24 for a Pep Rally to recognize SYF's football and cheerleading squads. The evening was highlighted by words of encouragement from our Mayor, Dan Malloy, former NFL star and current NFL representative Cedric Jones and Marc Lyons, SYF's founder. The Stamford High Band under the direction of Steve Fasoli also entertained the crowd.
Pictured are most of SYF's 48 teams and 1,200 football and cheerleading participants in the Middle School, Elementary, Mighty Mite and Flag divisions. On the field are SYF Football President Becky Zaro and League Officers Mark Ronan, Ray Flaig, Denise DeFrancesco and Moira Alessi.

SYF held its 5th Annual Fundraising Gala on October 21, 2005 at the Hibernian Hall with over 150 people in attendance. Our thanks to the Gala Committee led by Moira Alessi for their planning efforts and to all who attended, as well as to the financial supporters who were unable to attend. The event was both a financial success and a lot of fun to boot. Proceeds raised go towards scholarships for our participants with financial needs, and to defray the program fees for all others. SYF is an all volunteer organization that is a 501(c) corporation.
